artist statement:

“In my paintings I interpret my observations and feelings about nature, the water of the earth & sky, the trees, leaves and earth itself. Through layers of intuitively driven discoveries I attempt to capture the changing nature of landscape by exploring shapes, line and the intensity of paint. Numbers serve as underlying texture and reference to theory, logic and structure in the systems of nature.”

Sigrid received a BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in printmaking from Pratt Institute in New York. She lives in Annapolis, Maryland.
